RE-FRESH members partner with UNICEF East Asia and Pacific to improve urban food retail environments

RE-FRESH members from Deakin University have recently partnered with the UNICEF East Asia and Pacific regional office on a three year project to improve urban food retail environments, and curb rising rates of childhood overweight and obesity in the region. This project will be built on the understanding that every child has the right to healthy food that is available: in shops and stores close to where people live, affordable: at prices that everyone can afford, appealing: presented in an attractive manner, and aspirational: marketed and promoted to children and their families in a manner that motivates them to buy.
